Eagles Of Death Metal Join U2 For Paris Show

Eagles of Death Metal returned to the stage in Paris, France, on Monday, almost a month after terrorists stormed their show at the Bataclan theater and opened fire, killing 89 people.

Jesse Hughes and his bandmates, who fled for their lives in the chaos of November 13, joined U2 at the end of the Irish rockers’ AccorHotels Arena set, which was being taped for a HBO TV special, which aired on Monday night.

Introducing EODM to the stage, U2 frontman Bono said, “They were robbed of their stage three weeks ago and we would like to offer them ours tonight.”

The two bands then joined forces to sing a rendition of Patti Smith’s “People Have The Power,” and ended their set with a collaboration of the Eagles of Death Metal’s own song, “I Love You All the Time.”

The band’s co-founder Josh Homme recently launched a campaign urging artists to cover their track in an effort to raise money for the victims of the terror attacks.

U2 returned to Paris on Sunday night to play the first of two shows that were canceled and rescheduled in the wake of the terror attacks on the city.

The Irish band’s Monday night concert began just like its show on Sunday, with Bono paying tribute to the victims of last month’s atrocities, stating, “Tonight we are all Parisiens. Ce soir nous somme tous Parisien… If you love liberty, Paris is your hometown.”
