Elderly Police Retiree Battling Cancer Gets Amazing Send-Off From the Force in His Final Days

America’s police departments never fail to properly respect their fellow brothers in blue.

After battling cancer for a very, very long time, an elderly retiree of the Coon Rapids Police Department (CRPD) was given a beautiful send-off from younger officers of the force he once served.

In his remaining few days of life, a man decided to finish out his hospice care in his home and waiting for him outside lined up in uniform was a dozen police officers to greet and escort him home, safe and sound.

The man served the CRPD for 26 years and retired 16 years ago.
