Elton John Developing ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ Musical

Elton John is developing a Broadway adaptation of The Devil Wears Prada.

Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway starred in the 2006 film about an intern working for a difficult fashion magazine editor, and now the “Rocket Man” singer and playwright Paul Rudnick are trying to duplicate the film’s success on Broadway — as a new musical.

A production start date has yet to be determined, but John is thrilled to be working on the project.

“Re-imagining The Devil Wears Prada for the musical theater is super exciting,” he says. “I’m a huge fan of both the book and the feature film and a huge aficionado of the fashion world. I can’t wait to sink my musical teeth into this hunk of popular culture.”
