The Empire State Building has a reputation of being festive no matter the time of the year. This Christmas, a cappella group Pentatonix partnered with the iconic New York landmark to bring this year’s holiday music and light show to life.
Pentatonix has synced their rendition of “Dance of the Sugarplum Fairy” from their holiday album That’s Christmas To Me, to create the perfect musical light show. The show will be synced live each night until December 24 on iHeartMedia’s 106.7 litefm at 7 p.m.
“Holiday lights on the Empire State Building and Christmas music on 106.7 litefm are NY holiday traditions,” said Tom Poleman, President of National Programming Platforms at iHeartMedia. “We’re excited to partner by syncing our holiday music to the tower lights, creating something special for New Yorkers while they celebrate the season.”
To get fans in the holiday spirit, the recent Grammy nominees made a special appearance atop the ESB earlier in the month and performed the hit song in the lobby of the building.
“Through our partnership with iHeartMedia, our signature light shows set to music have become a spectacular sight illuminating the New York City skyline, and our holiday light shows are particular New York City favorites,” shared Chairman and CEO, Anthony E. Malkin.
The light show, designed by the well-known lighting designer Marc Brickman, is sure to get you in the holiday spirit. Check it out below!
