First Full Trailer for Marvel’s ‘Luke Cage’ Released

As Netflix and Marvel continue to build toward their Defenders series, they have now released the first full-length trailer of the next show in the series, season one of Luke Cage. Like Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and the soon to come Iron Fist, Luke Cage will follow the next hero of the Defenders, this time in Harlem, New York City.

The official synopsis, according to IGN.com, is as follows:

“In this groundbreaking new series, audiences will witness the evolution of Luke Cage (previously introduced in Marvel’s Jessica Jones) after he has relocated to Harlem and is in the process of picking up the pieces following his failed relationship with Jessica Jones. Like the preceding Marvel series on Netflix, Marvel’s Luke Cage is a gritty, action-packed drama, grounded in the real world with heroes who focus on saving their neighborhood and have their feet firmly planted on the ground.”

Luke Cage stars Mike Colter as the titular character, along with Mahershala Ali, Alfre Woodard, Simone Missick, Theo Rossi, Frank Whaley, and Sônia Braga.

The full first season drops on September 30th, exclusively on Netflix.
