The First Trailer for Live-Action ‘Beauty and the Beast’ Is Finally Here
With the plethora of cartoon live-action remakes hitting theaters, it seems like we’ve been waiting for one in particular forever. Well, the first teaser trailer is finally here to satisfy our curiosities and bring a beloved Disney classic to life.
Harry Potter actress Emma Watson stars as Belle, the bookish and ostracized heroine of Disney’s live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast. Joining her will be Ewan McGregor as Lumiere, Ian McKellen as Cogsworth, and Dan Stevens as the Beast.
Directed by Bill Condon of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Parts 1 and 2, the trailer features stunning shots of the castle and shows Belle’s arrival to the haunting, yet gorgeous abode. A few of the characters can be heard talking upon her arrival (“Look, it’s a girl. … What if she is the one?”) as a piano revamps the movie’s classic tune.
As excited as we may be, the film doesn’t come out for another year. The release date is set for March 17, 2017.
I guess we’ll all just have to watch this trailer again and again, which, considering how awesome it is, is not that upsetting. I mean, who knew Hermione could sing? Do you think she sings? She probably sings.
