The River Thames is a sight every tourist hopes to see when they travel to London. However, a passenger on a cable car caught a lot more on film when passing by the river in Greenwich, South London.
The video below shows a large, unknown creature with two humps breaching the surface of the water before diving back down. You can make out some of the creature’s body in the large shadow below the surface. Yeah, that looks huge.
YouTuber Penn Plate posted the video and wrote, “This was on the cable car in Greenwich yesterday. something (sic) huge was moving under the water and then briefly surfaced. Are there whales in the Thames?? Or is it some weird submarine.”
Whales and porpoises have been spotted in the river before, but experts are still stumped as to what this animal could be.
Ian Tokelove, of the London Wildlife Trust, told the Evening Standard, “We are not aware of anything that large and moving in the Thames.
“We had a good look at the footage but it isn’t clear enough to make out what we are looking at.”
The humps on its back kind of look like fins or plates. Those who have seen Jurassic Park 3, are probably picturing something like this:
Hopefully this creature isn’t that vicious, but take a look at the video below. What do you think it is?
