For fans of Game of Thrones, Season 5 has been a real eye-opener. It seems everyone who watches this huge HBO hit has a theory on who are Jon Snow’s real parents. Season 5 has provided fans with many clues to this hidden secret.
Many viewers are pretty convinced that Ned Stark is not Jon’s real dad. If so, then who is his real father? Many clues suggest it could be Rhaegar Targaryen, the son of the Mad King Aerys. As for Snow’s mother, Season 5 has served up a few hints that his real mother could well be Lyanna Stark, Ned’s sister. Although neither Rhaegar nor Lyanna have appeared on the series, various well-placed clues suggest it is them.
We know that in the episode “Sons of the Harpy,” Littlefinger tells Sansa that Prince Rhaegar had bestowed Lyanna with roses during an outdoor event. This insulted and embarrassed Rhaegar’s wife and Lyanna’s fiancé Robert Baratheon, who were both present at the time. As the story goes, Rhaegar later kidnaps and rapes Lyanna. Was the child Jon Snow?

Baratheon’s rebellion, Rhaegar is killed. As for Lyanna, we are told Ned had found her dying in bed.
More clever twists and turns in the same episode suggest that perhaps Rhaegar didn’t rape Lyanna, because they were lovers. This clue is told to Daenerys, Rhaegar’s sister, by Ser Barristan. He says Rhaegar was a decent and honorable man. We shall see. We shall see. So keep watching. The clues are slowly, steadily being revealed. The struggle for the Iron Throne continues.
