It’s no secret that ride-sharing apps can be dangerous for women. Between December 2012 and August 2015, Uber received 170 claims of sexual assault and five claims of rape. However, one grandma is hoping to change that.

Meet Kathy Raydings, also known as Grandma Uber. Raydings has made it her mission to get girls home safely. Hailing from Australia, she’s been Uber-ing for about seven months now, according to ABC News. Raydings first decided she wanted to become an Uber driver after a work injury left her looking for a new job.

“I needed to find a way to work for myself, doing something that I enjoyed,” Raydings told ABC. “[Women] are among our most precious and most vulnerable citizens in society, especially if they have been out late and are potentially intoxicated,” she continued.

Raydings now picks up 480 to 500 passengers a week. She told ABC that the horrible stories she hears about women being assaulted while trying to get home was a big motivator in her choosing her new career path.

“It’s my calling to get them home,” she said. “I go to bed at night knowing that I am making some small, positive difference to these girls’ lives, and it’s the best feeling in the whole world.”

If you’re located in Australia and want a hip granny to get you home safely, you can check out Raydings’ Facebook page where she posts about new drivers to her fleet.
