After a husky puppy picked out a cat at the local animal shelter, their owner noticed it wasn’t a typical dog-cat relationship. Woodhouse, a tabby from the shelter, and Raven, a Tamaskan dog, definitely don’t fight like cats and dogs. In fact, it’s the most adorable husky cat friendship you’ll see.
Their owner Christina always knew she wanted a cat and a dog, even though she got Raven first.
As she told The Dodo, “It’s been like a life goal” to get a cat and a dog—a life goal we can all get behind!
In order to make sure her dreams became a reality, Christina said she took Raven along to the shelter with her when she went to adopt a cat because “I wanted [Raven] to actually meet the cat and have the cat get along with the dog as well.”
You know we love a good shelter story, and the meet-cute of puppy and kitty couldn’t have gone better: Little Woodhouse came right up to Raven and it was the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
As babies, Raven and Woodhouse cuddled on the couch together for hours on end.
Although a year later they’re both a bit too big for snuggling quite as much as they used to do, they still love to hang out with each other and spend their days napping, playing, sunbathing outside, and eating together.
Raven of course let Woodhouse partake in his birthday celebration, complete with a peanut butter and hot dog cake. Um, yum?
They also love to chase each other around the house. Christina says that Woodhouse, fearless as ever, “even chases the dog around the house.” Woodhouse obviously doesn’t care that Raven is at least three times her size.
If these two can represent all our friendship (and Instagram) goals, then maybe there’s hope for cats and dogs everywhere. If you love cats and dogs living in harmony, please SHARE their amazing friendship with the dog and cat lovers in your life!
