Iron Man Set to Appear in ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’
Tony Stark will be paying a visit to the Spider-Man universe.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Iron Man star Robert Downey Jr. has agreed to join the cast of Spider-Man: Homecoming. Tom Holland will be playing the role of the web-slinger who will debut in the new Captain America: Civil War movie.
In Civil War, the relationship between Tony Stark and Peter Parker will play a pivotal role, as we saw in a new trailer that the web-slinger will join Team Iron Man in the superhero showdown. We’ll likely see the origins of their meet-up in Spider-Man: Homecoming.
Sony has held the rights to Spider-Man since the 1990s, but recently struck a partnership deal with Marvel to bring the superhero into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
With the addition of Iron Man, Marvel Studios recently announced that other Marvel characters will also be appearing in Homecoming.
Spider-Man: Homecoming swings into theaters on July 7, 2017. Captain America: Civil War hits theaters May 6.
