Jennifer Lawrence Took Her Movie Pre-Kissing Preparation up a Notch for Christian Bale

Jennifer Lawrence ate mints before kissing Christian Bale in American Hustle rather than her usual tuna and mustard.
The actress revealed her pre-kissing preparation secrets in an interview on The Graham Norton Show with her co-star Chris Pratt to promote their new sci-fi drama Passengers.
Lawrence shared that in comparison to Christian Bale, her The Hunger Games co-stars, Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson got a raw deal.
The 26-year-old admits she didn’t put much thought into it when it came to her preparations for the scenes.
“When I had to kiss Josh and Liam in The Hunger Games I was like, ‘Who cares?’ and I’d eat mustard and tuna,” she laughed to the Irish TV host during an appearance on this Friday’s show. “And then I did American Hustle with Christian Bale and I was like, ‘Oh damn,’ and I was really clean and ate lots and lots of mints.”
Lawrence has previously confessed that working with Bale was a career ambition; however it didn’t work out exactly as she had pictured it.
American Hustle director David O. Russell recalled in a 2014 interview with Us Weekly that Lawrence was somewhat disappointed when the moment arrived, mainly because Bale didn’t quite look like his Batman alter-ego.
“‘I finally get to make out with Christian Bale and he’s a really fat guy,'” Russell recalled Lawrence saying during filming the crime drama. She joked: “‘He’s Fatman, not Batman.'”
It also seems that she was keen to work with Guardians of the Galaxy star Pratt, as he was fortunate enough to get the minty breath treatment too. When asked about Pratt she added flirtatiously to Graham, “With Pratt I definitely ate mints!”
In the highly anticipated movie, the pair play Aurora and Jim, two people who wake up 90 years too soon from an induced hibernation on board a spaceship bound for a new planet. The sci-fi flick is set for release on December 21.
