Jennifer Lawrence Trips Up at ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ Premiere
Jennifer Lawrence was left red-faced on Monday after tripping up at the X-Men: Apocalypse premiere in London.
The clumsy Oscar winner joined co-stars including James McAvoy, Oscar Isaac, and Sophie Turner on the blue carpet for the global fan screening at the BFI IMAX, where they greeted crowds of devotees and posed for photographers to promote the movie.
However, Lawrence had apparently failed to master walking in her figure-hugging, floor-length silver Dior gown as she stumbled right in front of the waiting snappers toward the end of the carpet, reports the DailyMail.
The 25-year-old is well-known for being a klutz, and famously fell at the 2013 Oscars as she made her way to the podium to pick up her Best Actress trophy for Silver Linings Playbook.
She also lost her balance at the same event a year later, when she tumbled on the red carpet shortly after arriving at the prestigious ceremony, but Lawrence was able to laugh off the blunder.
“They put a cone right outside my car,” she told the Associated Press. “I fell on the cone and I have a goose egg (a bump) and it really hurts… It’s OK. I’ve got ’em all over myself…”
Lawrence reprises her role as Raven/Mystique in X-Men: Apocalypse, the follow-up to 2014’s X-Men: Days of Future Past, both of which were directed by Bryan Singer.
The new blockbuster also stars Michael Fassbender, Olivia Munn, and Tye Sheridan and opens in the U.K. on May 18 and the U.S. on May 27.
