Usually when there are warning signs telling people not to enter, those signs are up for a reason. Explorers visiting Skull Island are not heeding those warnings.
On Wednesday night, Legendary Pictures revealed the second official trailer for Kong: Skull Island, showing more of a bigger, badder King Kong – who just wants to be left alone. Watch:
The trailer reveals that scientists have discovered a mysterious island and they hope to map it topographically using research instruments, aka, bombs. What some on the expedition don’t know is that the researchers believe the island is full of monsters and they want evidence to show the world. The expedition is caught up in a game of survival against not only Kong, “king” of the island, but mysterious “skull crawlers,” lizard-like creatures that dwell below the island’s surface.
Kong: Skull Island features an all-star cast led by Tom Hiddleston and Brie Larson, along with John Goodman, Samuel L. Jackson, and John C. Reilly. It’s directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts. It hits theaters on March 10, 2017.
Along with the trailer premiere, Legendary unveiled two new posters for the film (below).
Kong: Skull Island will be the second in a planned crossover series from Legendary and Warner Bros. Pictures that will marry the rebooted Godzilla (2014) into the same universe of films. Godzilla 2 is slated for a 2018 release, followed by a planned Godzilla vs. King Kong for 2020.
