Military Family Celebrates Military Child Month With an Adorable Tea Party Photo Shoot
It doesn’t get much cuter than this!
The month of April celebrates the Military Child, and 26-year-old Lizz Porter knew exactly what she wanted to do to honor her daughter and husband. Porter’s husband, Kevin, is a U.S. Marine Corps drill instructor.
To capture the perfect moment, Lizz Porter set up a tea party for her husband to enjoy with their 4-year-old daughter, Ashley.
“My husband had no idea what was going to happen until we showed up to the shoot,” Lizz Porter told ABC News. “He was hesitant at first but after a little talking I was able to convince him. He would do anything for Ashley.”
Ashley was super excited to pose with her dad at the tea party and would not stop smiling.
“She was excited,” Lizz Porter said to Inside Edition. “She started jumping around and calling herself a princess. They were having a lot of fun. Ashley got right into it. A while into the photo shoot my husband started warming up.”
The photo shoot was extra special since the father and daughter duo are very close. They do not get to spend a lot of time together due to Kevin’s busy schedule, so they cherish the moments they have together.
“She doesn’t get to see him much due to work, deployment, and most recently his job as a drill instructor,” Lizz Porter told ABC News. “Any time they can get together she is sure to take advantage of.”
Lizz Porter thought the tea party would show a softer of her husband that is often covered up in the military.
“Drill instructors still have a life after working long and hard hours,” Lizz Porter explained to ABC News. “Many of them have families that after hours they still have to attend to … and yes, a lot of them have a completely different side to them.”
