Love Knows No Boundaries: Down Syndrome Couple Shares Beautiful Moment

Love What Matters, a blog that celebrates love stories in all their forms, has shared its latest tearjerker. Submitted by Courtney Greenhalgh, the video below showcases one of the most pure, unabashed, and blissful examples of true love. Something we need to see every now and again.

In the video, Greenhalgh’s sister, Ashley, is celebrating her 21st birthday with her family and boyfriend, Danny. Both Ashley and Danny were born with Down Syndrome, a condition that may cause delays in physical and mental development. But what is a clinical condition in the face of love?

“Danny and my sister have been dating for two years and couldn’t be more perfect for each other,” Greenhalgh shared with Love What Matters. “Danny wanted to go out of his way to let my sister know that he will always be there for her and that he only has eyes for her.”

Danny then surprises Ashley with a diamond promise ring, and even gets down on one knee to proclaim his love. The absolute glee and happiness shared by both he and Ashley can almost be felt while watching the video.

In a world where biased judgement seems to be at the forefront of all our decisions, Danny and Ashley can provide a valuable lesson: Remember to show those you love that you love them, in any way you can.
