Ah, winter – a time for rich hot chocolate and snuggling by the fire, or some would have you believe. In reality, you know you’re going to have to wake up early to defrost your car and shovel the piles of snow blocking your driveway. However, if you’re fortunate enough to have good neighbors willing to lend a hand, the winter can be all the more bearable.
That’s what happened to a resident of one suburban neighborhood when some thoughtful kids decided they wanted to help.
Daniel Medina took a photo of his children helping a disabled elderly man shovel the snow outside his house. He posted the now-viral photo to the Facebook page Love What Matters.
“We’re driving down s60th st (sic),” the proud dad begins, “near Morgan and my two sons aged 10 and 6 asked me to pull over because they just saw a guy in a wheelchair trying to shovel his corner lot and they wanted to help.”
Medina wasn’t the only one impressed by his sons’ actions. The post received nearly 700 comments praising Medina’s fantastic fathering skills.
“Dad, this is a reflection of all you have taught your sons. So while you are proud of them, take a moment and be proud of yourself. Great (sic) job!!” one person wrote.
“You have 2 (sic) wonderful sons with big hearts. It really is hard to grasp the season of giving at this young of age, but they’ve got it,” another wrote.
If there’s one thing for sure, these kids definitely made Santa’s good list.
