As anticipation builds for New York Comic Con on Oct. 6-9, and hot off the heels of the wildly popular new show Luke Cage, Netflix and Marvel announced the start date of their next sure-fire hit.
On Tuesday, the official Facebook page for Marvel’s Iron Fist unveiled a short 15-second teaser announcing the show will begin streaming all episodes on March 17, 2017.
Iron Fist, starring Finn Jones (Game of Thrones) follows a man, Danny Rand, who must fight relentlessly to regain everything he’s lost, according to marketing materials from Netflix. The online streaming service unveiled the first teaser trailer in July at San Diego Comic Con. Tuesday’s announcement may be a sign that more details will emerge at New York Comic Con this weekend.
Iron Fist is the fourth hero in Marvel and Netflix’s Defenders series, which will bring Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist together to battle their biggest threat yet.
Netflix also announced that filming on The Punisher has begun. The character, played by Jon Bernthal, gained critical acclaim after his appearance on Daredevil season 2 and showrunners quickly greenlit a standalone series for the mercenary anti-hero.
