Have You Met Charlotte the Gigantic Spider? She’s Terrifyingly Cute!

If you have arachnophobia, turn back now, although this spider is weirdly adorable.
A spider was rescued on a farm in Australia and she is unexpectedly monstrous. After her photo was shared online, she was taken a liking to, as if she was a puppy, and is now the internet’s latest obsession.
In Queensland, Betty from Barnyard Betty’s Rescue discovered and saved a spider after some scared children yelled out for her, almost getting their mother to kill it.
“She was the size of a dinner plate,” Betty described to CBS News. “So, I grabbed an old broom and gently got her to climb onto the broom head.”
Charlotte is the spider’s name (after Charlotte’s Web?) and hunting down prey without spinning webs is her game – because she belongs to the huntsman spider species, known for their enormous size.

“She was a beautiful, calm spider, not aggressive in any way and like most spiders she just wanted to go about her business eating bugs and living in peace,” wrote Betty in a Facebook post. “She didn’t or doesn’t need to be killed! Poor spiders are so misunderstood!”
Betty took a couple of great photos of Charlotte before releasing her safely on the farm over a year ago. The spider has only recently become an internet sensation and her whereabouts today are unknown.
Hopefully Charlotte is hiding in a barn somewhere, hanging out with Wilbur, living peacefully.
