Moderators Announced for All the Presidential Debates

On Friday, the Commission on Presidential Debates announced the names of the moderators for each presidential debate that will take place from late September to mid-October.

In the first presidential debate scheduled for Sept. 26, NBC Nightly News anchor Lester Holt will moderate. That debate will be held at Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York.

The second debate will take place just over one month before the 2016 election when the vice presidential nominees will meet at Longwood University in Farmville, Virginia on Tuesday, Oct. 4. Indiana Gov. Mike Pence will debate Virginia Senator Tim Kaine.

Then, on Sunday, Oct. 9, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump will meet for the second presidential debate in a “town hall-style” debate co-hosted by ABC News chief global affairs correspondent Martha Raddatz and CNN anchor Anderson Cooper. The town hall will take place at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.

The third and final presidential debate is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 19 at the University of Nevada in Las Vegas. Fox News’ Chris Wallace will moderate.

“These journalists bring extensive experience to the job of moderating, and understand the importance of using expanded time periods effectively,” Frank J. Fahrenkopf Jr. and Michael D. McCurry, co-chairs of the non-partisan Commission on Presidential Debates, said in the statement, according to ABC News.
