Newly orphaned baby opossums were rescued from a Hanover, Virginia, interstate by passing troopers from the Virginia State Police.

The marsupials were making their way away from the road, where their mother had just died, when state troopers G.M. MacDougall and D.M. Fleenor spotted them.
The post shared to Facebook shows the troopers holding the little animals.
The troopers brought the 10 marsupials to the Area Rehabbers Klub wildlife center “to get the care they need.”
