Photographer Captures Exact Moment When Mom Found Out She Delivered a Baby Boy Instead of a Girl
One couple from Australia got the ultimate surprise when giving birth to their baby.
Koto Nakamura and her husband Sina Niakansafy were told they were going to have a baby girl, however much to their surprise, it was just the opposite. Luckily, Nakamura’s reaction was caught on camera the moment she found out, creating a priceless and perfect reaction photo.
“I thought everyone was joking,” Nakamura told Today. “I lost words and I couldn’t believe it until I saw his bottom.”
Leading up to the birth Nakamura had been showered with pink gifts and had planned to name their baby girl, Hinata. Looks like the couple had to make some last minute adjustments.
Jessica Jackson, who owns Itty Bitty Photography, was present for the birth and captured the one-of-a-kind moment. Jackson is known for doing birth photography, but has never seen a moment quite like this.
“This was one of the most amazing moments — a roller coaster of emotions in just a few short minutes,” Jackson shared. “Pure shock, disbelief, excitement, happiness and relief. This is the reason why birth photography is so important. Imagine when (the baby) is all grown up and his parents are telling his birth story to him and they have these images to share the way they looked when they found out this news.”
The couple picked a new name for their little boy and chose Taiga, which means “big and gracious.”
“I was shocked for a few seconds, and then it didn’t matter if it was a girl or a boy,” said Nakamura.
