Rebel Wilson Says She Hasn’t Been Offered Adele Role

Rebel Wilson has shot down reports suggesting she’ll be playing Adele in a new biopic.

Adele herself laughed off the rumors at a gig in London on Monday, telling fans, “Let’s see if that turns out to be true,” and now the Pitch Perfect star has weighed in on the speculation.

Wilson recently took to Twitter and revealed she has never been offered such a role.

I have never been offered to play Adele in a biopic…completely made up tabloid story with fictitious unnamed source! Love Adele though X

But she admits she would consider the part, telling one curious fan her participation would “depend on the script.”

Adele seemed a little ticked off about the Wilson rumor during her show.

She told fans that filmmakers would “need my f**king permission” before making a start on a biopic.

Meanwhile, another quirky role Wilson has signed on for is that of sea witch Ursula in a staged retelling of Disney’s The Little Mermaid at the Hollywood Bowl this summer.

She’ll star alongside singer/songwriter Sara Bareilles and John Stamos.
