Following in the long tradition of law enforcement professionals performing acts of kindness, a group of officers in Upstate New York went out of their way to perform an inspiring act of kindness. The officers literally showered a man with an act of kindness few would forget.
Rome Police Officer Aaron Page spotted a homeless man named Bobby in his city’s downtown area. According to Inside Edition, Bobby was “down on his luck” and desperately wanted a hot shower and a haircut.
Officer Page told Bobby to go to the police precinct the next day. When Bobby arrived at the precinct, a group of police officers joined Page to help him fulfill his promise. The cops gave Bobby a much-needed haircut, a hot shower, and new clothing.
“This morning we provided Bobby with a haircut, a shave, a shower, and a whole new wardrobe of donated clothing,” the police department wrote on its Facebook page. “Bobby left looking like a whole new person and couldn’t thank us enough.”
The Rome Police Department shared photos of Bobby’s special makeover, and they received over 22,000 likes.
