This Seaside Walk Is a Giant Organ That Makes Music With Ocean Waves

In Zadar, Croatia, the sounds of the sea are like nothing you’ve ever heard before, and that even goes for those who may live on an island.
That’s because in Zadar, an architectural object along the Adriatic Sea actually plays music as sea waves course through a series of tubes located beneath.

The Sea Organ, or “Morske orgulje” in Croatian, was created by architect Nikola Bašić as “part of a project to redesign the new city coast (Nova riva),” the description in the YouTube video explains.
The video reveals that concealed underneath white marble steps is a system of polyethylene tubes and a “resonating cavity” that helps produce the whimsical notes “played by the wind and the sea.”
Judging by the tranquil look of many of these bystanders, we’d say this is one spot you’ll definitely add on to your bucket list.
