A woman has touched lives across the nation for what she did and is doing for a baby girl severely injured in a car crash.

On their way to see the Grand Canyon, a family was involved in a terrible car accident that hospitalized the parents and their 13-month-old daughter. However, the child and parents were sent to different hospitals, leaving the child along. That is until a stranger found her and stayed by her side.

The accident occurred in February, just six months after the Ghosh family settled in the U.S. from Bardhaman, India.

The other driver was suspected to be under the influence of drugs, possibly meth, and collided head-on at around 80 mph.

Thirteen-month-old Tai broke her spine, legs and arms in the wreck and was separated from her parents when taken to the Phoenix Children’s Hospital in Arizona, near where the accident occurred. Her parents were airlifted to another hospital, Flagstaff Medical Center.

Sumona Bhattacharya heard about the crash and the family’s separation and visited baby Tai, staying with her until her parents could return.

And when the parents were reunited with their baby girl, Bhattacharya continued visiting the little girl and voluntarily giving the family lifts for Tai’s many surgeries and appointments.

The love did not cease to end there, as Bhattacharya began a fundraiser via CrowdRise to aid the family with their tremendous amount of hospital fees in order to literally get Tai back on her feet.

The CrowdRise, Stand by Baby Tai, went up in April and was successful. The $100,000 goal was essentially quenched with $99,932 raised (as of press time).

“I’ve got myself another daughter, another sister and I know this relationship will carry us a long, long time so you do what you  have to,” said Bhattacharya.

Acts of kindness like this, which stretch far beyond one moment or even a day, are truly ones to be inspired by.
