After being late to class every single day of the school year, a 17-year-old girl from Miami found the sweetest way to make it up to her teacher.
Jenny Hudak shared with BuzzFeed News that she was constantly late to class because she was committed to so many activities.
“I was editor of the yearbook and senior class president,” she explained. “Me being 15 minutes late to class was not me being a bad student, but I was so committed to so many things.”
Her yearbook commitment took place right before her calculus class and she was always late because she stayed to work on so many projects.
Since her calculus teacher had been very kind and understanding about the situation the whole year, Hudak wanted to do something nice to thank him.
“You’ve been so understanding,” Hudak said she told her teacher one day in April.
“I needed to get him a gift,” she added.
After hearing that her teacher was a fan of cake from Publix (which he called “the best”), Hudak brought in the treat as a gift on the last day of class. She wrote, “sorry i was late to your class everyday,” messily with frosting.
“He was really grateful,” said Hudak.
After the event, Hudak posted the photo on Twitter where it has been retweeted over 2,700 and has 6,153 likes at time of publication.

The photo received a lot of attention online with many commenting about other teachers who “they think they owe a cake to.”
“Our school teaches students ‘attitude of gratitude,’” said Hudak. “It was a way to thank my teacher for being so understanding.”
The teacher is one of the most popular at the Miami private school and is very “beloved.”
“He was the greatest teacher ever,” she said. “For me and all of his students.”
