Tom Cruise Relives His Film Career With James Corden and Cuba Gooding Jr.
Tom Cruise was briefly reunited with Cuba Gooding Jr. on Wednesday as he reenacted classic scenes from his biggest movies with James Corden.
With Corden’s help, the actor ran through his extensive filmography on The Late Late Show in a nine-minute comedy segment, recreating clips from Top Gun, Rain Man, A Few Good Men, Vanilla Sky, and Risky Business, among others.
They also revisited Cruise’s grand entrances in each of his Mission: Impossible movies, which had the pair pretending to hang from the ceiling, ride motorbikes, and climb up the side of a skyscraper.
However, it was the Jerry Maguire skit which really surprised viewers, as Gooding Jr. joined in the fun for the film’s 20th anniversary.
As Cruise and Corden recreated the famous “Show me the money” scene, the co-star made a special cameo, criticizing the British presenter’s portrayal of his sports star character Rod Tidwell and insisting he take over.
“If you’re gonna do it, let me do it right,” Gooding Jr. quipped as he stepped in to reenact the famous exchange.
Cruise and Corden ended the segment with an action sequence from Jack Reacher, after which the host remarked to the movie star, “This movie was so great, I think you should make a sequel.”
Cruise was appearing on the talk show to promote his new film, Jack Reacher: Never Go Back.
