Video of Vet Comforting Crying Pup Will Melt Your Heart

A young pit bull mix by the name of Meesha was terrified when she awoke from her spay surgery on Wednesday at BARCS Animal Shelter in Baltimore, until, that is, surgical assistant Dennis Moses calmed her down.
In a video shared around the world, Moses cuddles the poor pup in his arms, rocks her back and forth, gives her kisses, and even speaks to her in soft, hushed tones.
Bailey Deacon, a fellow team member at BARCS, told ABC News, “Coming off anesthesia, dogs are just like people…they don’t know where they are and they’re disoriented.”
Deacon added that Meesha “was really scared” in the surgery room so Moses took her out into the hallway.
The dog had been recently adopted by a family and went home 24 hours after the surgery.
The video was posted to shelter’s Facebook page and has already been viewed over 1 million times.
Deacon was elated that the video went viral, saying, “It’s the bad things people do to pets that usually become the viral story. For someone to see a person treating an animal right…and taking the time to love it, and hold it and telling the puppy he loves her, it restores people’s faith in humanity.”
Moses calmed the pup for a full 15 minutes, after which he said that she was “more alert and awake and was back to her happy little puppy self.”
