‘The Walking Dead’ Star to Lead New ‘Star Trek’ Series
The Walking Dead star Sonequa Martin-Green, who plays Sasha Williams on the hit AMC series, has been cast in the upcoming Star Trek: Discovery.
The actress will portray a lieutenant commander on the USS Discovery in the new show, which is scheduled to launch next May.
Martin-Green, who has also appeared on TV in The Good Wife and Once Upon a Time, becomes the first African-American woman to lead a Star Trek cast.
She joins Michelle Yeoh, Doug Jones, and Anthony Rapp among the early cast members for the new Star Trek series.
