It looks like Dory is headed out on another adventure.
Disney/Pixar and Ellen DeGeneres unveiled the highly anticipated trailer for Finding Dory early Wednesday morning.
The new sequel takes place six months after Finding Nemo ended, where Dory has moved in with the clown fish and begins to join Nemo at school. During a trip to the stingray migration, Dory is hit with a memory of home giving her a strong feeling that she should attempt to find her long-lost family.
“I miss them,” Dory tells Marlin. “Do you know what that feels like?”
Along the way Dory bumps into some friends, both old and new, who help her during her adventure.
“It was so much fun because I’d tell you a story and then you’d completely forget about it and then I’d get to tell it to you over and over again,” says Destiny, the whale shark.
In a recent interview with The Omelete, Pixar President Jim Morris explained that the film mostly takes place at the Marine Biology Institute of California, where Dory was born and raised before being let go into the ocean at a young age.
The sequel, directed by Finding Nemo’s Andrew Stanton, finds DeGeneres and Albert Brooks reprising their roles as Dory and Marlin. Idris Elba, Dominic West, Diane Keaton, Eugene Levy, Ed O’Neill, Ty Burrel, and Kaitlin Olson join the cast for this new adventure.
Finding Dory hits theaters June 17. Check out the trailer below.
