Recognize this man? No? Well, you might recognize his voice.

This voice actor was best known for his classic greetings for AOL, back when that was a thing, and he was just discovered in Ohio…driving an Uber.

Elwood Edwards is his name and saying things like “Welcome,” and “You’ve got mail,” are his game. (You might also recall “Files done,” and “Goodbye.”)

Since his famous recordings, done in 1989, Edwards has been heard in an episode of The Simpsons, appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and even featured in a movie starring Tom Hanks called (literally) You’ve Got Mail.

However, most recently, Brandee Barker revealed the latest whereabouts of Edwards in her viral video where he is living the simple life: driving an Uber around Ohio.

OMG OMG my @Uber driver in Ohio was the You’ve Got Mail voice Elwood Edwards!!! I made him say it in this video #GOTVforHRC pic.twitter.com/Jgcl7v040D

We were relieved to hear his memorable, soothing voice without the bloodcurdling sounds of signing onto AOL using dial up.

Remember? (We are so sorry.)
