You really have to see it to believe it.

YouTuber Sam Reid embarked on a project that is not all the uncommon in today’s digital age – taking a photo of yourself every day for a certain amount of time and creating a time lapse video. However, Reid decided to pull a twist on this one.

Instead of just doing a regular time lapse video, he actually lip syncs the lyrics to a song. How did he do that? Well, by singing the song for five years.

Reid notes in the description of his video that he started in February of 2011 and ended in April 2016.

He starts out as an awkward 17-year-old and progresses to a chiseled 22-year-old adult.

The song is Coldplay’s “Life in Technicolor II” and Reid is seen mouthing each syllable in each photo. Put together, he’s able to “sing” the song.

He also revealed that some days he wasn’t able to take a picture, but we’re still impressed by the amount of work and dedication this project took.

Even Coldplay itself was impressed with the video.

This Life In Technicolor ii video is amazing! (And the T-shirt budget must have been substantial.) A https://t.co/Nq1v4XwZ7u
