Everyday Dollar Store Products Become Fancy DIY Decor Items

There’s nothing better than finding DIY projects you can actually do, because adding items to your home or event can get costly very fast.

Most people don’t realize that the Dollar Store is a great resource for completing all your decor needs, from creating custom candle holders to tiny green gardens. YouTuber “DoItOnaDime” has compiled a guide to creating some dream decor items from basic Dollar Store products.

DIY is supposed to be uncomplicated and fitting to your budget, but it can be tricky trying to understand and/or keep up with replicating the project. This tutorial will guide you through three DIY decor ideas you can actually afford and are capable of doing easily.

Tiered Bowl: All you need is two bowls, preferably of the same size, a glass, and super glue.

Place the super glue on the rim of the cup and stick it upside down on one of the bowls. Grab the second bowl and repeat the same step, glue the upright side of the cup and stick it to the other bowl. Then your tiered bowl is complete and you can now add fruit, plants, etc. inside!

Lantern: It’s hard to believe that this lantern is made just from picture frames, but believe it, because it is!

Choose four frames that are 5×7. The frames can be any color that match your current decor, or feel free to paint them to your liking. Hot glue the frames together in the form of a box, then add your choice of candles, flowers, or plants inside. What’s next? Nothing, you’re high-end DIY lanterns are completed just like that!

Elegant Candle Holders: With your choice of candles in any size and flat candle holders, this DIY project is as simple as it gets!

With super glue, glue the candlesticks to the holders and then add the candles. Yes, that’s it!
