Glassdoor, the recruiting and career website, released its eight annual list of the 50 Best Place to Work in 2016.

Airbnb, who did not make the list last year, received the top honor. The rookie company was able to overthrow Google, who had been near the top for the last few years. Airbnb received a score of 4.6, with 95% of employees saying they would recommend the company to a friend and a 98% approval rating of their CEO, Brian Chesky.

Other companies that stood out included Hubspot, Bain & Company, and Guidewire.

According to VentureBeat, 21 tech companies made the list, which is up considerably from just 14 last year.

Many of the companies that were on the list shared several themes and values that gave them such high ratings.

“Common themes among the winners include employees feeling valued, unique cultures that align with the company’s mission, smart colleagues, great perks and benefits, clear direction, opportunity for advancement, mission/values driven, transparent senior leadership, and challenging or exciting work,” shared POPSUGAR.

The list is based off of employers who submitted reviews and ratings on the site. Reviewers can rate their company on a 5-point scale, with 1.0 being very dissatisfied and 5.0 being very satisfied.
