You can always look to your older siblings for guidance, for comfort, and for a good time. Sure, you argue and you fight sometimes, but at the end of the day you still love one another. And your sibling might be a labrador, but who cares? Wait…

Meet Peanut the lab, a pup with over 10,000 followers on Instagram, and who is the proud big brother of baby “Possum” (who is not actually a possum, by the way). It’s only been a few weeks since Peanut has taken on the mantle of big bro, but he is adapting to it as only man’s best friend can: perfectly.

Watch how Peanut amazingly comforts his little bro upon hearing him crying:

Possum begins to cry, as newborns often do, and Peanut slowly comes over, looks up into the camera as if to say, “Give him a second, don’t worry,” and then proceeds to nudge and gently lick his baby brother. Slowly but surely, Possum stops crying.

And even though Peanut is new at this whole sibling thing, he is putting his best paw forward:

I seriously can’t believe mom puts you under this rainbow of neglect… here, you need a bath. #possumandpeanut

I mean, yeah! We both enjoy the same things… like not talking, sleeping, and whining for food. #possumandpeanut
