Viral Photo Shows Gator Hitching a Ride on a Manatee in Florida
Surf’s up, gator style.
A Florida woman, Dana Menk, recently captured an amazing photo during a visit to Blue Spring State Park, 30 miles north of tourist mecca Orlando. The snap seems to show an alligator riding on the back of a manatee.
The photo blew up after the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission shared it on their Facebook page. The post quickly accumulated reactions and shares, sitting at over 1,000 and 3,000 respectively as of December 14.
In addition, the post has garnered nearly 300 comments from bemused social media users, with many commenting that the image was the “most Florida” thing they’d ever seen.
