Aliens ‘Mess With Earth’ in Newest ‘Independence Day: Resurgence’ Trailer

“They love to get the landmarks.”

On Friday – and fittingly Earth Day – 20th Century Fox unveiled the newest full-length trailer for the highly-anticipated summer blockbuster, Independence Day: Resurgence, where the destruction of Earth’s most notable tourist destinations gets destroyed (again). On the film’s Facebook page, the video was accompanied by the message: “Don’t mess with Earth.”

“We always knew they were coming back. After Independence Day redefined the event movie genre, the next epic chapter delivers global spectacle on an unimaginable scale. Using recovered alien technology, the nations of Earth have collaborated on an immense defense program to protect the planet. Resurgence brings back original stars Jeff Goldblum, Bill Pullman (who apparently hasn’t lost his monologue chops), Judd Hirsch, Sela Ward, and Vivica A. Fox, and will be joined by Liam Hemsworth, William Fichtner, Jesse Usher, and Maika Monroe in the all-star cast.

Independence Day: Resurgence invades theaters a week before the July 4th holiday weekend when it opens June 24.
