Thanks to Amy Schumer, Goldie Hawn is making her return to the big screen after a 15-year hiatus. The epic duo has come together to play mother and daughter in the action comedy, Snatched.
Snatched tells the story of an impromptu vacation to South America gone horribly wrong. What is supposed to be a relaxing trip turns dangerous very quickly — and has Schumer and Hawn fighting for their lives.
The trailer highlights Schumer’s typical hijinks of a drunken night out, including meeting sexy strangers and, of course, washing her genitals in a public restroom.
This is Hawn’s first role on the big screen since 2002’s The Banger Sisters. However, Schumer was determined to get her in this film.
“I met [Hawn] on an airplane a couple of years ago and told her there’s a movie I really want to make with her,” Schumer told the Los Angeles Times. “And she was very nice. ‘OK, honey.’ She probably thought I was a psycho. ‘OK, crazy person.’ Then I’d meet her at different things, saying, ‘We’re making this movie together,’ and I think, eventually, some people got in her ear and told her I wasn’t crazy, that I make things.”
Joan Cusack, Ike Barinholtz, Wanda Sykes, and Christopher Meloni join Schumer and Hawn in the R-rated comedy.
Snatched, directed by Jonathan Levine (50/50), hits theaters on May 12, 2017.
