They’re not the hero we want, but they’re certainly the hero we need.
In a new parody campaign video, Vancouver comedy duo Brian Calvert and Chris Cannon, once again try to get Canada elected as America’s president. The entire country of Canada announces its “Canada-cy” for the 2016 U.S. presidential race by saying that they “will work in shifts.”
“Not me, not Prime Minister centrefold, but all of us; 34 million of the politest people you will ever meet working in shifts as your new commander-in-chief,” producer Brian Calvert says in the video.
The Canada Party, as they’re calling it, seeks to help “make America good again” by legalizing weed, opening one free daycare for every closed Planned Parenthood, and figuring out why in the world America still has a race problem.
It should be noted that this is not the first time Canada has run for president. “We were a little disappointed when you didn’t elect us in 2012, but we’re Canada, so we just went to the doctor and got our feelings checked for free,” says Calvert in the video.
You can find their platform and “upcoming events” at AmericaButBetter.com. They even have a book detailing their promises to the American people and why you should vote for Canada. You can buy it on Amazon.
Don’t worry, Canada, you have our vote. Yes we Canada!
