While shooting a music video for a song, a Christian singer never expected this interaction to occur.
Carlos Whittaker was filming a video for his song, “God of Second Chances,” in a nearby park when the unexpected happened. Shortly after Whittaker started singing, a homeless man named Danny approached him and knelt beside him. Quickly, he picked up on Whittaker’s melody and started to join in on his song.
Danny sang with Whittaker in perfect timing, harmony, rhythm, and tune. The videographer was shocked and could be heard commentating on the video in the background describing the events playing out before him.
“Do you see what is happening?” the videographer shared with a stunned reaction.
The duo sang the song both continuing to embrace the moment that brought them together. The two guys, both with very different backgrounds, were able to find a common ground through the power of music.
At the end of the video, Whittaker told Danny, “Keep trying to make it man.” However, Danny’s reaction surprised Whittaker more than his musical talents.
“Trying to make it? No man. I ain’t trying to make it. I’m making it,” Danny shared. “Jah puts His soldiers everywhere. Jah says, ‘Yea though you walk through the valley of the shadow of death.’ So He places some of us, in that valley.”
