Leonardo DiCaprio pranked his pal Jonah Hill by pretending to be a snap-happy fan on the streets of New York City.
Hill was waiting to meet up with his The Wolf Of Wall Street co-star in the West Village on Monday, when DiCaprio decided to have some fun with his friend before giving him a proper hello.
In video footage posted online, an unsuspecting Hill had his head down looking at his mobile, while a bearded DiCaprio, wearing sunglasses and a cap, spotted his friend from down the block.
The Oscar winner quickly took out his own cell phone and ran up to Hill as if he was an overzealous fan eager for a close-up picture of the movie star.
A shocked HIll soon realized the street snapper was DiCaprio, and the two embraced while Hill continued to recover from the unexpected encounter.
The actors have long been playful pals ever since the two filmed The Wolf Of Wall Street back in 2013, when Hill purposefully made the star sick while shooting a scene involving too much sushi.
In an interview with Variety, Hill recalled how his improvisation of a line showed DiCaprio’s commitment to acting, saying, “I was supposed to say ‘yes’ and then eat it. But then I said, ‘No, buddy, it’s all yours,’ and then he had to eat it. So he had to match that take for the rest of the night and had to eat about 70 pieces of raw yellowtail and was throwing up into a trash can. Everyone was like ‘Oh, Leo, are you OK?’ and the only two people on the floor laughing were (director Martin) Scorsese and me.”
