We’re used to seeing them save lives on the movie screen, but Marvel Studios’ most recognizable heroes are now bringing their life-saving heroics to children all over the real world.
On Tuesday, Marvel Studios announced they are teaming up with Save the Children for a massive fundraising mission in the hopes to help kids in need all over the world.
From Marvel Studios:
“Marvel Studios: Hero Acts is a brand-new charitable initiative focused on bringing help and hope to kids around the world. Whether visiting children in hospitals, granting wishes to children with life-threatening illnesses, or inspiring kids and families through our content, Marvel Studios: Hero Acts builds on the tradition of lending a hand to children in times of need. From our filmmakers to our fans, we believe we each have our own superpower to lend to the world, and Marvel Studios is dedicated to bringing that out in everyone.”
Star of the upcoming Doctor Strange, Benedict Cumberbatch, invites fans in a video message to help launch “Hero Acts” by sharing social media photos of their favorite characters.
For every social media post by December 31 with hashtags #heroacts and #marvelstudios, Marvel will donate $5 (up to $1 million total) to Save the Children.
Dozens of users have already shared their favorite character, and in some cases, favorite cosplay. So, what are you waiting for? Let your nerdy side shine through…in the name of charity, of course.
