This marine managed to give his mother the surprise of a lifetime.
Rekita Lee had not seen her son, Tre’Vaughn, since he was deployed to Japan in August of 2016. Rekita Lee was supposed to take a trip to see him last October, but she had to cancel at the last minute.
Luckily, Tre’Vaughn Lee was given some time off and thought it would be a great opportunity to surprise his mother. With some sneaky planning, Tre’Vaughn Lee was able to pull off the surprise and give his mother a moment she will never forget.
Check out the amazing reunion below.
“Tre’Vaughn has always been my rock so it was just very, very, very emotional,” Rekita Lee told ABC News. “I literally thought I was going to have a heart attack. I couldn’t breathe. I couldn’t believe he’s here.”
In order to keep the visit a surprise, Tre’Vaughn Lee told his mother that he was being sent to a different location for a training mission to advance his Marine Corps career. He also told her that he wouldn’t be around much due to a rigorous schedule, and said not to expect many phone calls.
“He didn’t want to tell me many details because he didn’t want me to be nervous,” Rekita Lee told ABC News.
Rekita Lee cannot wait to spend some quality time with her son.
“I just really, really needed that. It’s been rough,” Rekita Lee told ABC News. “…I never do good around holiday time because I think it should be a happy time. I don’t complain too much because I am thankful for a lot, but I’ve also had a lot of roadblocks in my life.”
Please SHARE this sweet reunion with all of your friends!
