In this random act of kindness, Ashley Jordan, 27 and mother of three, was checking out at a Walmart in Columbia, South Carolina when cashier Sharnique Dasant gave her a “blessing” — paying for half of her grocery bill.

Jordan was searching through her wallet after Dasant revealed the total amount on her bill. Within seconds, Dasant decided to use her own credit card to knock $100 off the family’s bill.

“She gave me a smile and said you guys look like you need a blessing tonight,” wrote Jordan on Facebook. “This sweet woman whom I never met in my life paid for half of my groceries!”

Jordan’s Facebook post has over 30,000 likes and 8,000 shares as of February 22.

“We can take care of our kids, but lately it’s just been hard,” Jordan told InsideEdition, revealing her husband works many hours to support the family.

She said Dasant’s gesture wasn’t necessary, but still took some of the pressure off of her.

“I just had like a little man on my shoulder that was like ‘Give her $100 dollars, give her $100 dollars,'” Dasant said. “God told me to do it.”

And that faith has inspired Jordan, who acknowledges that God sent Dasant to her family and answered her prayers. She plans on paying this kindness forward too, helping another person when the time calls for it.

“Our associates are the true backbone of our company,” Walmart Director of National Media Relations Ragan Dickens told Fox News. “This random act of kindness is but one example of the good people that make up the Walmart family.”

Your Daily Dish reached out to Ashley Jordan and Sharnique Dasant for a comment.
