Some of Broadway’s biggest stars have come together to honor the victims from the Orlando shooting.

The stars came together to record a special cover version of the 1965 hit, “What the World Needs Now Is Love,” to honor the victims from the Orlando massacre last week. All of the proceeds from the song will benefit the GLBT Community Center of Central Florida.

A-list stars such as Lin-Manuel Miranda, Audra McDonald, Matthew Broderick, Gloria Estefan, Idina Menzel, Jessie Mueller, Carole King, Sarah Jessica Parker, Nathan Lane, Kristen Bell, Whoppi Goldberg, and more came together to record the special track. The whole get-together was organized by SiriusXM Radio host Seth Rudetsky and his producer husband James Wesley.

“The Broadway community was so terribly shaken and devastated by the horrific tragedy in Orlando. Everyone wanted to do something as quickly as possible that would truly make a difference,” Rudetsky said in a statement. “On Monday, my husband James woke me up at 7:30 AM and suggested we rally our friends and colleagues to do a ‘We Are the World’ type recording and raise money for the victims and their families. We started making calls and suddenly we had tons of theatre actors along with an orchestra and the services of a fully-staffed recording studio, all willing to donating their time and talent. Our community of artists has banded together as we always do to show we can end this cycle of violence and intolerance. Love WILL prevail!”

Cabaret alum Joel Grey told People it was something he “needed” to be a part of.

“It was my own way of paying my respect and mourning … mourning (sic). There’s so much loss in our country that that could happen, the way it could happen. It’s so confusing,” Grey shared. “It made me mad – and so sad. Because I don’t just think it was easy; I think it was probably about homophobia and Ameriphobia. We must have some gun control; fair gun control.”

The song is now available for download on BroadwayRecords.com and will soon be released on iTunes. Check out the video below to see the stars record the wonderful tribute.
