Horror film Don‘t Breathe has scared up $15.7 million worth of ticket sales to top the North American box office for a second week in a row.

The movie, from Fede Alvarez – the director of the Evil Dead remake – was made on a budget of just $10 million and centers on a group of teens whose attempt to rob the house of a blind veteran takes a nasty twist.

Don‘t Breathe, which stars Jane Levy, Dylan Minnette, Daniel Zovatto, and Avatar villain Stephen Lang, received favorable reviews upon its release last weekend, drawing in film fans for a late summer scare over the Labor Day holiday weekend.

Estimates for the film stand at $19.4 million for the long weekend, bringing the movie’s domestic total to $54.8 million.

“To more than double your production budget on opening weekend is a fantastic result,” Sony worldwide president of marketing and distribution Josh Greenstein said. “It’s the latest in a string of low-budget movies that have been very profitable movies for Sony, including The Shallows and Sausage Party. And Fede is a master storyteller.”

Don‘t Breathe‘s earnings are easily enough to win the box office battle for the weekend, stealing the crown again from David Ayer’s Suicide Squad. The DC Comics ensemble movie placed second with $10 million, helping to boost its domestic take to over $300 million in its five weeks on release. It is expected to close out the holiday weekend with $13.7 million.

Disney’s Pete’s Dragon took the third spot with $6.5 million, while Kubo and the Two Strings and Sausage Party rounded out the top five, respectively.
