It may be cold outside, but this Polish advertisement is guaranteed to warm your insides.

Last week, Allegro, a Polish online auction website, released their new Christmas advertisement. The ad tells the story of a lonely elderly man who orders from the site an English for Beginners book and audio tapes. The commercial follows the man as he slowly begins to pick up the language while placing funny Post-it notes throughout his home to remind him the names of certain objects, even humorously placing a “Dog” note on his trusty pup. The man’s language skills progress until evidently he’s confident enough to take his new-found language out into the world. He purchases a suitcase and boards a plane. When he finally arrives at his destination, we understand all his practice was so that he can speak to his young granddaughter in Britain.

The viral advertisement has been a huge hit online and on social media. The YouTube video has over 11 million views. Users all over Facebook have fallen in love with the adorable grandfather, calling the ad the best Christmas commercial of 2016.

Language alone can bring down barriers and bridge divides. This holiday season, Allegro is showing it’s bringing a family closer together than they’ve ever been before.
