Actress Alyssa Milano has signed on as the new face of the Atkins diet and plans to use the program to slim down after becoming a mother for the second time.

The former Charmed star welcomed daughter Elizabella a year ago and now she has teamed up with officials at the healthy eating firm to get back in shape.

Announcing the news online on Tuesday, brand representatives write, “We are thrilled to announce that Alyssa Milano has joined the Atkins family! Alyssa is on a journey to embrace a healthy #lowcarb lifestyle and lose her last 10 pounds (of baby weight) with #Atkins. She wants to inspire and learn from our community, so join her and share your progress, tips and advice with #NowWeCan! Let’s welcome Alyssa and do this together!”

Speaking about her new role, Milano, 42, says, “Woohoo…! Excited to be part of an inspiring community. #NowWeCan”.

The actress, who is also mom to four-year-old son Milo with husband David Bugliari, joins rock matriarch Sharon Osbourne as a celebrity spokesperson for Atkins, which encourages users to adopt a low carbohydrate diet to achieve weight loss.
