Food Network celebrity and chef Rachael Ray isn’t just a chatty TV host, she also is an animal lover helping animals in need through Rachael’s Rescue. In honor of Adopt a Shelter Dog Month, Ray has launched a new sweepstake and donation campaign, “Nutrish Furever Home,” which is designed to raise awareness around animal rescue and help shelter pets find the homes they deserve.

During the month of October, the campaign promises to donate $250,000 from the sale of Ray’s “Nutrish,” a healthier food alternative for dogs and cats,  to three rescue organizations.

They are Big Dog Ranch Rescue, the largest no-kill dog rescue in the Southeastern United States, located in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida; the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, the first animal welfare organization in North America, which serves as the nation’s leading voice for animals; and North Shore Animal League, the world’s largest no-kill animal rescue and adoption organization.

The other aspect of the program — the sweepstakes — lets consumers register the purchase of Nutrish products for a chance to win 1-of-4 prizes, including a grand prize of $25,000 and a free year supply of Nutrish dog or cat food. The other prizes are $5,000 and a free year supply of Nutrish dog or cat food.

To enter, shoppers need to purchase one of the Nutrish products between Oct. 1 and Oct. 31  and snap a photo of their receipt. To register the purchase, customers need to visit the website and follow the on-screen instructions to upload a digital photo of the original receipt. Winners will be notified following the completion of the program.

Available at grocery stores nationwide, as well as online, Rachael Ray Nutrish premiered in 2008 when Ray partnered with nutrition experts from Ainsworth Pet Nutrition to feature real, meat-first varieties and recipes for pets with ingredient sensitivities. Every Nutrish pet food recipe is natural with added vitamins and minerals. The company insists it never uses any artificial preservatives, flavors, or poultry by-product meal.

Since Nutrish began, a portion of the proceeds from each sale is donated to the Rachael Ray Foundation. To date, the foundation has donated more than $21 million to organizations that do good for animals, including its recent commitment of $1 million to support various animal welfare organizations actively working to help animals impacted by Hurricane Harvey.
